The Caribbean is full of many surprises around the corner that may fascinate just about anyone. But where should you start, with over 7000 islands and many coastal areas to choose from? For starters, Colombia is a amazing place to start! Colombia is known for it's sprawling jungles and beauty. Although you may believe that Colombia is not a part of the Caribbean, it shares 1000 miles with the Caribbean coast extending from the Gulf of Urab to the Gulf of Venezuela as stated in the Virtual Caribbean Island.  It also has many beautiful cities to visit, like Bogota and Medellin! With lots of interesting history and culture behind it. There are also many indigenous peoples that inhabit the region! Colombia is also synonymous with coffee, as some of the most praised coffee comes from that region aswell. However, there is more than just coffee, there are a multitude of foods aswell! From corn cakes to arepas to roasted ants (yes, ants) there are many new tastes to discover! If you are someone who likes beaches, Colombia has that too! Cartagena and Santa Marta is bustling with tourism with it's amazing sights ( I have even been there myself!). The waters are a relaxing shade of blue that contrast beautifully with the bright sand all radiating under a warm blanket of air that covers the shoreline. It is quite an experience like no other. With it's geography in mind, it's culture, food and tourist locations, Colombia will provide you with a Caribbean-esque experience like no other!
